Idea · Customer portal

We want our customers to be able to help themselves

A portal where your customers find answers, place orders and follow their own cases, instead of calling or emailing. It is not always the answer, and we work that out before you build it.

When does it make sense?

  • Customers call or email about the same things over and over.
  • You lose repeat orders because customers cannot order when it suits them.
  • Your salespeople spend time on orders that ought to run by themselves.

What it is about

The customer would rather sort it out herself, at nine in the evening

A customer portal is one place behind a login where the customer sees their own price, your stock and their own orders. Self-service means the customer can do all of it without asking one of your people.

  1. Why customers want it

The customer now handles in the evening what used to take a phone call in office hours. She waits for nobody who has gone home, and she sees her own agreement instead of a general price list.

  2. What it solves at your end

The same questions about price, order and status stop filling the phone. Your salespeople get time for the sales that need a salesperson: confirming the decision the customer is about to make.

  3. When it is not the answer

If the price is negotiated case by case, it is the quoting process that has to be sorted first. And if your largest customers order through their own procurement system, a connection to it is worth more than a portal they never log in to.

The portal builds on what you already have. Prices, stock and orders come from your existing systems, so you do not end up with one more place someone has to remember to update. If you cannot trust the figures there, the portal simply shows the customer the error.

The portal is not the hard part

The hard part is getting customers to use it instead of picking up the phone.

A safe way in

How we start, without you committing to anything big

  1. Step 1

    Clarification meeting

A short conversation about the idea, and what we make of it at first glance. Free, and it commits you to nothing.

  2. Step 2

    Digital pre-project

We map what your customers actually call about, and what they would rather handle themselves. You get a concrete proposal with the numbers behind it, and if the idea does not hold, we say so. A fixed price, offset against the first stage if you build on within 90 days.

  3. Step 3

    Development in stages

We build in stages at a fixed price and take what pays for itself fastest first. After that, operation and support from people who know the solution.

You can stop after each step, without the effort being wasted.

What it usually consists of

We settle the exact scope together

What yours has to do is something we work out in the pre-project. An idea like this one usually contains some of the following.

  1. Their own prices

A login where the customer sees their own range and their own agreed prices, not a generic price list.

  2. Reordering and status

The customer orders again and follows the delivery, at nine in the evening as well.

  3. Documents in one place

Invoices, cases and attachments in one place, so nobody has to dig through an email thread.

And what we do not do: We do not build a portal before we know what your customers would use it for. If you have a few large customers who would rather talk to a salesperson, the portal costs more than it saves, and we will say so.
