Turn vision into reality with strategic digital advice

Digital advice works out what is worth building before you spend money on it. You get an analysis, a business case and a prioritised plan for the first stage.

This page explains one of our disciplines. If you are looking for a solution to a specific problem, it is quicker to start from the challenge. See the challenges

What it is

What you need to decide before you spend money on building

Digital advice is the work that happens before development starts. We look at how you work today, what systems you have, and where the time and the errors go. Then we work out what is worth doing something about, and what it realistically costs to change.

You are left with a basis for a decision: a prioritised list, a business case and a proposal for a first stage. Sometimes the recommendation is to buy an off-the-shelf product, or to change a way of working, rather than build anything. We say that too, even when it means less work for us.

When we use it

When we typically start with advice rather than code

  • There are several possible routes, and nobody can yet say which one pays off
  • The investment is large enough that a wrong purchase will hurt
  • The requirements are unclear, and each department has its own version of the problem
  • An earlier IT project went wrong, and you do not want a repeat
  • Management needs a number to base the decision on

What it solves

Problems that start with not seeing the whole picture

Advice rarely solves the problem itself. It decides which problem to solve first, and whether the solution is worth the money.

  1. We do not know what to build first

We map your workflows and systems, then set out the options by what they cost and what they give back.

  2. We have no overview of our own numbers

We find out where the numbers live, what they mean, and what it takes before you can steer by them.

  3. Our process is not sold off the shelf

We check whether a standard product can cover it, and what has to be built, before you commit budget to something untested.

  4. We want to use AI but do not know where

We point to the one place worth trying first, and say no if ordinary automation solves the task for less.

Run the numbers yourself

We also help turn new ideas into something real — from the first set of numbers to something that runs.
